Targa Tasmania is a premier Tarmac Rally Event that now has worldwide recognition, and is based in Tasmania, the holiday isle. Targa Tasmania is also the most prestigious tarmac event in Australia, and it therefore attracts large numbers of competitors and spectators, especially as it is part of the new and very exciting Australian Tarmac Championship. The event features some tremendous roads running through spectacular countryside, and so enjoys extensive television and general media coverage. Targa Wrest Point is another premium event that runs in January, and is organized and promoted by the same group that are behind Targa Tasmania. We are running cars in both of these sensational tarmac events. Targa Tasmania Features some of the most exciting sealed roads that Tasmania has to offer, with some sections offering some real high speed sensations. The level of grip offered on these roads changes quite dramatically, as the surface can be predominantly dry, although it will frequently feature wet patches mid-corner, or under some of the many overhanging trees. Challenging, and exciting.

When you choose to drive our cars in the Targa events with us, you will begin to experience what it feels like to be totally at one with a rally car on tarmac. As you push the limits gently, you will start to feel the car really responding to your actions, and after a couple of Special Stages, you will begin to feel as though the car is simply an extension of your own body. You will simply be instinctive in your actions, and the car will swing from bend to bend as if by magic. The amazing thrill of high speed competitive tarmac driving is all yours. You will now get to feel what it's like to actually control the uncontrollable. Our Government Accredited Race and Rally Driver Academy Training Course prior to the event will assist greatly in preparing you for the challenge of going for a win in your chosen class or category.

Targa Tasmania is also part of the very exciting 2010 Repco Rally Challenge, and as such provides an interesting variation to the other gravel events in the series. If you choose to compete against other drivers in identical cars with identical skill levels, then you will be in one car throughout the year competing for outright honours in the 2010 Repco Rally Challenge.

Targa Wrest Point is also organised by the Octagon Group, that run Targa Tasmania. It is a highly successful two-day event that debuted on the Australian motorsport calendar in 2009, and was an instant hit with competitors and fans alike.The event is held on the weekend of January 30 and 31, 2010, and utilises many of the Targa Tasmania stages used in previous years, which are located around Hobart itself, to the South and also in the Huon region of Tasmania.

The event is run over 14 stages, across 180 competitive kilometres, and includes the highly-rated Arve Rd and Tahune Airwalk stages. The event has a very compact format, which allows everyone to be on the ferry back to the mainland of Australia on Sunday night, meaning that they can be back at work on Monday morning. Targa Wrest Point is open to modern, showroom and classic cars. The 2009 event attracted 116 cars and injected more than $3 million into the southern Tasmania economy.

As this event forms one of 2 events that are part of the 2010 Repco Rally Challenge, it is pivotal Rally in terms of pointscoring for the overall 2010 scoring. This, coupled with the fact that it is as much of a wonderful social event, means that there is great deal of fun to be had.

Pre-event rally tuition is also available for 1,2, or 4 Days through our Rally Driving Courses packages. This would be the way to experience the most from your time with us during the event or events.
